PUBLIC RELATIONS CONSULTANT
SOCIAL MEDIA STRATEGIST

Engaged as a consultant to strategically enhance the profile of speedgolf in Australia and review how it is viewed and presented.  This involved media relations, public relations, social media management, event management, radio advertising, digital advertising, content creation and photography.  I travelled to Bandon Dunes, Oregon for the Speedgolf World Championships to increase the profile of the sport here in Australia, to develop relationships with key stakeholders and to showcase the competing Australian athletes.

Strategic Communication

With an aim to start speedgolf leagues throughout the nation, at the Australian Open in Sydney I managed a speedgolf hub and liaised with media personnel to promote print media by leading writers, and enhance the sport at the grassroots level with an aim to engage golf clubs to foster speedgolf leagues and participation.

In collaboration with Golf Australia, with an aim to increase participation in golf collectively, this less traditional version of golf was promoted via traditional marketing and digital marketing as part of a master communication and marketing plan.

Building the profile of speedgolf in Australia

A speedgolf celebrity event was held to attract sport influencers to experience and endorse the sport.  I managed Yarra Bend Golf's radio advertising and drove an advertising campaign to the sport target demographic that strategically built awareness and converted to national and local reach of the sport as well as promoting the desired image of the sport in accordance with the brand philosophy and image.  This also delivered a strong message that the facility is progressive in fostering new forms of the game of golf and increasing participation in golf, speedgolf and this increased traffic for all the service offerings at the facility in accordance with the overall strategic marketing and communications plan.

Australian Speedgolf Championship

The public golf course I was engaged as marketing manager for became the host of the Australian Speedgolf Championship through my strong relationship with Speedgolf Australia.  A world record was broken at the event with an Australian competitor winning, beating the world champion Irishman Rob O' Hogain. Fox Sports 3 covered the event as well as Channel Seven news.  The event lead to a league beginning at the course, comprehensive media coverage of the players, the sport and the venue, and subsequent print media and radio interviews.  These achievements contributed to successfully implementing the communication and marketing master plan.
